Certified AI Quality Management System Manager (CAIQMSM�) Certification Process

The Certified AI Quality Management System Manager (CAIQMSM�) certification program is developed by the AI Assurance Institute specifically for professionals responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving quality management systems in accordance with prEN 18286:2025 and the requirements of the EU AI Act.

The CAIQMSM� certification is designed for individuals who design, manage, and oversee an organisation�s quality management processes for high-risk AI systems, assess and mitigate risks to health, safety, and fundamental rights, implement technical and organisational measures for compliance, conduct verification and validation activities, and perform performance evaluations and continual improvement of AI quality management systems.

While its primary focus is compliance with prEN 18286 and the EU AI Act, the CAIQMSM� examination provides value to any professional with responsibility for AI system quality management, risk control, or regulatory conformity.

This certification promotes internationally recognised best practices and provides executive management with assurance that individuals holding the CAIQMSM� designation possess comprehensive knowledge of the requirements for establishing and maintaining compliant AI quality management systems in accordance with prEN 18286:2025.

Development and Description of the CAIQMSM� Exam

A dedicated CAIQMSM� committee oversees the development and maintenance of the examination, ensuring its ongoing relevance and alignment with current regulatory and technical developments.

Examination questions are developed through a rigorous process designed to guarantee content quality and validity. The content is based on prEN 18286:2025, the EU AI Act, and related harmonised standards.

Job practice statements form the foundation of the exam and represent the knowledge and skills required to achieve CAIQMSM� certification. These statements are periodically reviewed and consist of five domains derived from extensive research and input from subject matter experts in AI quality management and regulatory compliance.

The tasks and knowledge statements describe the responsibilities performed by certified AI Quality Management System Managers and the expertise required to execute them effectively. Candidates are tested on practical application of these tasks.
